III° Millennium: from dream to reality

One year ago I had the opportunity to assemble a project concerning partnership, exchange and the importance of the group to modern society. Without knowing, I was sowing the first seeds that eventually originated the project that I present to you today.

The end of the century and beginning of the millennium was marked by the accelerated and effervescent rhythm of ideas and facts, by the doubts and questions about the future of humanity. The speed with which we saw our societies evolve, grow and question themselves in this century, has left a question in the air – where are we going in such a hurry…

The same old questions arise: who are we, where did we come from, and to where shall we return? The challenge is set forth: to seek new aims and directions, bearing in mind our uniqueness as individual and collective people, create new goals for our societies. How can one find the human factor among the mechanization of our times?

We discover then, that what differentiates mankind from machines is this constant search and questioning, which is inherent to all human beings, this desire to go beyond, to seek new horizons outside and within us. It is this capacity to believe in impossible dreams, to transform deserts into seas, to climb the highest mountains, to descend to the deepest chasms of the ocean.

Search the end of space for signs of life, in the hope of finding the images of what we once were or of what we might be some day. We seek without stopping that second of eternity, those few instants of comprehension of the meaning of life, when we are proud of being human beings.

We discover in this eternity that we are universal beings, respectful and worthy, rich in complexity and subtleness. That the immortal human inside us has the capacity to recreate itself and the world it lives in .That we are free to love and choose our paths, to dream and accomplish these dreams, to grow and constantly transform ourselves.

 

 

 

 

 

We also discover the importance of friendship, comradeship, exchange and partnership to fulfill our dreams.

And within this rich dialogue with society, we can see and apply mankind’s creativity. 

"Within the existing dualism between each other’s dreams and aspirations and the materialization of such dreams we realize the importance and strength of the group."

As an artist, I try to unite and place on canvas these feelings, these images of a world in full transformation, these visions of the future, mirror reflections of what we shall be one day. Engraved images on our collective memory, tales of the past, tales of the present, possible tales, many times hidden behind our doubts, but felt and shared by all of us.

Images of seemingly distant worlds, but which cannot exist separately.

From dream to reality, every artist tries to follow this path at each artistic endeavor that he carries out. Tries to pass on a little bit of this faith in the human potential and richness, in this capacity to perceive the innumerable facets of everything one lives through or experiences: belief in the magical constant rebirth of mankind.

It is within this new context that I would like to invite you to embark with me on this journey through the depths of the earth and of the oceans, until the most remote constellations.

"From the infinitely small to the infinitely big, the humanity of the third millennium is facing its biggest challenge and its most daring dream: its rebirth."

We change, evolve, and grow thanks to the most precious feeling within us: hope and faith in the magic of life, in Creation itself. And it is with this that we shall enter this new millennium, not as an end of an era but as a beginning of a new Era.
